Unitel 2.5 Long Distance

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: KAREN SCHWEIZER on Wednesday, January 09, 2008
From: LIVONIA, MI (United States)
Experience: 2 Months
Pros: Very reasonable pricing. Easy to switch. Good communication via e mail.

Summary: I am very happy with them but I am probably going to switch my phone service to be through my cable co. to have it all on one bill - cable, internet, local/long distance. I don't think Unitel had local--only long distance--I wish I had used them sooner! I would keep them if I wasn't trying to have it all on one bill. Thank you!

Summary: There are no words to describe my frustration with this

Another Long Distance Service!

Overall Rating:
3 out of 5
By: Michael Walters on Wednesday, January 02, 2008
From: Midland, MI (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: It was easy... A fair price, not the best price,
didnt have to spend a lot of time setting it up.

Cons: If I had more time to check around I think I could of made a better decission.

Summary: I am totally not into discussing a topic that is of no particular interest to me. I would rather be driving my Harley or playing golf. Maybe a trip to my favorite party store to prepare for NCAA Chamionship Game. Go
OHIO STATE!

Great price

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Cory Dillon on Sunday, October 28, 2007
From: tempe, AZ (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: We're again paying 4-5 cents a minute for international calls after Cox hijacked our service from the previous vendor and was charging $10 a minute! We're very happy with the service, too.

Cons: None

Summary: Do it. You won't be sorry.

Unitel 2.5 service plan

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Steven Staley on Tuesday, October 23, 2007
From: Indianapolis, IN (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: inexpensive; on-line bill pay allows no monthly service charge

Cons: none so far

Summary: I have had no complaints since signing up for this service. My long distance phone bill has went down and the on-line bill pay is very easy to use and since I went paperless there is no monthly service charge which is another great feature.

Changeover from Global Crossing to Qwest

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Patricia Stoll on Monday, September 17, 2007
From: Colorado Springs, CO (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Cheap when it works.

Cons: Unprofessional, no one at home minding the store, 2 months behind in billing, if you have problems over the weekend no way to even leave a message.

Summary: I've given up and changed my father's long distance carrier. Not everyone has a regular computer to pay their bills. He pays by check. Unitel is over 2 months behind on their bills. They didn't send out any notification of this last change and just turned my 80-yr old father's long distance off and left it up to him to figure out what's wrong. Very unprofessional, uncaring, just plain WRONG!

HATEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Ronna Bridges on Monday, August 27, 2007
From: Charleston, SC (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Cons: Unprofessional Don't-Care-Attitude

Summary: I was charged $3 in error a few months ago because I had a paperless bill, and they charged me for having a paper bill. They credited my account, but I just got a bill for .07 and asked them very nicely via email twice and one the phone one time (they have limited business hours) if they would please credit my account for the .07 -- I had no idea how I was going to send them a check for .07. They reluctantly credited my account and said that was the LAST credit they were giving me. SEVEN CENTS!!! I only had Unitel because of the phone card when traveling outside the US. I rarely used Unitel. No one there, including email, uses a name so you have no idea who you are talking with. I had to ask to whom was I talking with. The email person never emailed me back with his/her name. I tried to talk to a supervisor, but they gave me the 3rd degree - as if they were too busy or could care less about talking with me. She was as cold as ice. Needless to say, I closed my account and am writing the president of the company. Maybe he cares about Unitel's customers. Maybe not, since they don't bother to train their customer service people. They treated me like dirt, and were VERY unpleasant and unprofessional. I will never use them again, even if I have to pay 5x more in long-distance charges. If they had just credited the .07 like I requested in the first email I sent them they would still have me as a customer, and I would not be writing this as well as telling all of my friends NOT to use Unitel.

Long Distance - Did you know?

The USF fee is a mandatory fee implemented by the FCC. Companies can however charge a higher % than required. A higher USF fee can have a significant effect on your final bill. We include the USF Fee into our "Yearly Savings" formula which has a significant role in which plan has the highest Yearly Savings value.

This fee goes to High Cost/Low Income Fund, Schools, Libraries, Rural Health Care, and Telecommunications Relay Services or TRS Fund.
