Easy Long Distance

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Patricia Newton on Monday, July 02, 2007
From: Spokane, WA (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: No dial-around numbers or long card number and PIN. Great rates!

Cons: So far, none.

Summary: I signed up for Pioneer Telephone long distance service through PhoneDog because my 88-year old mom now lives with us. We had used an MCI card for our long-distance calls, but she couldn't dial all the numbers and got so frustrated she refused to phone her grandkids and old friends anymore. She can handle "1 + area code and phone number." She's happy, we're happy.

Pioneer- what a rip off, do not sign up with this company!

Overall Rating:
2 out of 5
By: Jessica Hopkins on Thursday, June 14, 2007
From: Salem, OR (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: None

Cons: The first bill was low. The second one they overcharged us by over 600 minutes.

Summary: Our second bill we were charged for over 800 minutes. We had actually used 140 minutes. The extra calls were all made in the middle of the night and when we were at work. Pioneer claims they are legitimate charges. Six months later, we are still trying to get our money back.

Pros: inexpensive, great pay plan

Customer Service

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: T P on Tuesday, May 01, 2007
From: NJ, NJ (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: Low Price

Cons: Lines are not clear and have problems with FAXing

Summary: Customer service is bad. Sent in my payment, they cashed the check and proceeded to charge me fees for not paying. "Sorry we credited the wrong account." Also the lines get static in them fairly often and when trying to FAX the transmissions won't go through.
