Pioneer

Overall Rating:
4.2 out of 5
By: Carla Cassity on Wednesday, November 19, 2008
From: Tempe, AZ (United States)
Experience: 30 Days
Pros: Low price and did not take very long to get the service started.

Cons: Charge $10.00 upfront which is refunded through phone service usage.

Summary: My other long distance service went away because of customer complaints with possible litigation. So far, this company seems legit. I am satisfied with the service.

Landline Long Distance Value = Pioneer Telephone

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Heather Potucek-DiBella on Wednesday, November 12, 2008
From: Coatesville, PA (United States)
Experience: 4 Months
Pros: Price, small but well-run business, located in New England, online bill access and payment, paperless statements

Cons: Initial $10 charge to verify your payment info (but it is credited to your bills until it's gone)

Summary: Got tired of a very old one-rate plan that was 10 cents a minute, and wanted something MUCH cheaper without a large monthly fee. (We usually don't make many Long Distance calls per month.) Well, this plan has worked out great for us so far (it's 4 months and we still haven't gone through the $10 verification money), and what's even better is we know we're supporting the economy back home, because the company is located in New England.

By: Janet Rau on Monday, November 10, 2008
From: Loleta, CA (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Easy to sign up.
The price is right.
No difference in service

Cons: Haven't noticed any

Summary: This service suits our need for long distance. We are now paying one quarter of what we paid ATT. I haven't noticed any difference in voice quality. Sign-up was easy and transition was smooth.I haven't needed any customer service, so I can't rate it. I don't just like this service.. I Love it!

Excellent Long Distance Service

Overall Rating:
4.7 out of 5
By: B C on Sunday, November 02, 2008
From: Belmont, CA (United States)
Experience: 12 Months
Pros: Great long distance at an excellent price.

Cons: None

Summary: Going on one year of service with Pioneer and the transparency of having them as the LD carrier as opposed to have been gouged by MCI and ATT over the past years.....MEANING, the $20 put nearly a year ago into the account for the initial sign up with Pioneer still - GET THIS - has $1.24 left on it!

Geez to think, before Pioneer we were paying somewhere around $20 a month just to have MCI or ATT as our LD carrier and HARDLY EVEN USED THE SERVICE!

Long Distance - Did you know?

The USF fee is a mandatory fee implemented by the FCC. Companies can however charge a higher % than required. A higher USF fee can have a significant effect on your final bill. We include the USF Fee into our "Yearly Savings" formula which has a significant role in which plan has the highest Yearly Savings value.

This fee goes to High Cost/Low Income Fund, Schools, Libraries, Rural Health Care, and Telecommunications Relay Services or TRS Fund.
