ReviewOverall Rating: By: M Sarsf on Tuesday, July 03, 2007From: New York, NY (United States) Experience: 3 Months Pros: A few dollars cheaper than Verizon.Cons: 1.They do not contact you or leave a voice-mail when they have made the switch from your old service to Cleartel. The only reason I knew the switch had been made is because our Verizon voice-mail stopped working. 2. No customer service via e-mail. 3. Web-site very sparse especially regarding account info. 4. You have to enter your home phone number when at home to check your voice messages. Summary: I am not a hundred percent certain on Cleartel as of yet. Thank you 28 out of 52 people found this review helpful

CLEARTEL RESIDENTIAL BASIC PHONE SERVICE PLANOverall Rating: By: AMY BERTRAM on Monday, March 20, 2006From: AURORA, IL (United States) Experience: 1 Days Pros: EASY TO SIGN UP ONLINE. DECENT PRICING FOR THE STANDARD PHONE SERVICECons: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICESummary: I WAS SWITCHING MY HOME PHONE SERVICE FROM COMCAST DIGITAL CABLE TO CLEARTEL TO SAVE MONEY. I SIGNED UP ONLINE, THE CALLED TO CONFIRM MY WISH TO SWITCH, AND I THOUGHT THAT ALL WAS WELL. ABOUT 2 1/2 WKS AFTER SIGNING UP, I STILL HAD NOT HEARD ANY NEWS ABOUT THE SWITCH, SO I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE, WHO TOLD ME THAT THE REQUEST WAS STILL PEDNING BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T 'FIND' THE LINE. I INDICATED (AS I HAD TO INDICATE WHEN SIGNING UP, HENCE MAJOR CONFUSION AS TO WHY THEY COULDN'T 'FIND' THE LINE) THAT I WAS CURRENTLY W/COMCAST DIGITAL CABLE, SO THE TRADITIONAL LINE WAS ROUTED TO A DIGITAL BOX, BUT THAT SINCE THEY HAD NOW FOR THE SECOND TIME MY EXISTING PHONE COMPANY, THEY COULD WORK IT OUT W/COMCAST. ANOTHER WEEK WENT BY, AND I HEARD NOTHING FROM CLEARTEL. I CALLED AGAIN, AND THEY SAID MY REQUEST WAS CLOSED OUT BECAUSE OF BEING UNABLE TO LOCATE THE LINE. I WAS FURIOUS, AND SAID THAT I APPRECIATED THE FACT THAT THEY DIDN'T CONTACT ME AND CLOSED THE REQUEST WITHOUT SWITCHING MY SERVICE BECAUSE I WOULD NOT WANT TO BE A CUSTOMER OF THEIRS ANYWAY IF THIS IS HOW THEY RUN THEIR BUSINESS. 45 out of 76 people found this review helpful
cleartel residential basicOverall Rating: By: J Eggleston on Tuesday, January 10, 2006From: Mariettai, GA (United States) Experience: 2 Months Pros: Telephone service itself is great. Cons: Service is great as long as there is no necessity of dealing with a live customer service representative. Summary: The price and quality of the service is great. However, dealing with the customer service department can be a nightmare becuase many representatives speak rapidly in heavily accented English making it almost impossible to understand. 44 out of 75 people found this review helpful
My Brief Cleartel ExperienceOverall Rating: By: Robert Bailey on Thursday, January 05, 2006From: Houston, TX (United States) Experience: 24 Days Cons: Poor customer serviceSummary: When I received my first bill I discovered the taxes & surcharges exceeded the 17.95 base rate. These were much higher than expected, so I contacted customer service to register my complaint to no avail. Then I searched for another provider and chose SBC. This service was effective 11/04/05. My Cleartel service was for local calls only since I used another carrier for LD. I contacted Cleartel and advised I had switched to SBC and requested a bill to reflect the 24 days service. However, they continued to bill me monthly through Jan. 11,2003. Cleartel customer service continued to insist that they were providing my local service and I owed what they had billed. I contacted SBC for help and they provided a letter showing the order number for disconnecting my service from Cleartel. I submitted this letter with my check for 24.78 for the 24 days service received from Cleartel. I have received no response from Cleartel since. 39 out of 72 people found this review helpful
Cleartel ServiceOverall Rating: By: Theresa Hendrick on Wednesday, November 30, 2005From: Jonesboro, GA (United States) Experience: 90 Days Pros: Price is great for local service. They were quick to correct a disconnection of service. Cons: Customer Service for new products is missing. They sometimes use personnel who do not understand English. This inturn never gets your problem properly taken care of. Never reimbursed for disconnected service days.Summary: If you are looking for a great price for local service it is a good buy. If you want additional products I suggest another carrier. 43 out of 76 people found this review helpful
